Good growing and good environmental practice go together. We've invested in water, energy and pest-management systems that reduce our footprint while producing healthier, stronger plants.
Our Practices
How we grow
Growing quality plants for a cooler, greener Australia is in our DNA. Four areas where we focus:
Water
We were among the first nurseries in Australia to trial and demonstrate water re-capture and re-use systems. Our practices contributed to NSW Agriculture's Managing Water in Plant Nurseries publication, were showcased to 120 nurseries and are now industry standard. We continue to invest in dams, water capture infrastructure and irrigation efficiency.
Energy
We have operated on solar power since 2014 and continue to expand capacity. We do not use fossil fuels for heating in plant production. Our current program of work includes expanded solar, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure.
Materials & plant health
We recycle plastics across pots and production materials wherever possible. We use sustainable bark chip and coir-based growing media, not peat. Integrated Pest Management is the default: biological controls and targeted interventions before any chemical use.
People & community
We are based on Bundjalung Country and committed to supporting Indigenous and local suppliers wherever practical. We are a Work180 endorsed employer, actively committed to team diversity and advancement. We are proud supporters of Bangalow Koalas, providing tubestock for their habitat restoration plantings.
